TRADITIONAL TURKISH GULET
The Traditional Turkish Gulet is a handcrafted vessel made of wood by highly skilled craftsmen. Also known as motor sailers, gulets are extremely comfortable and ideal for long sea voyages as well as coastal trips.
A gulet is motor-sailing yacht, equipped with one or two masts, built for sailing along the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts. Gulets were originally built and used by fishermen and sponge divers to transport their catch.
Today, yachts - chalets are luxuriously and specially equipped mostly for yachting.
The traditional Turkish gulet has a round rear, a low profile in the water and a wide deck.
However, nowadays, there are many different types of yachts that fall under the general description of a wooden gulet.
The design of the original yacht - the rounded stern gulet, limits the number of cabins that can be built in her. Therefore, the newest “ayna kic” (flat) type of gulet is becoming more and more popular as a charter vessel.
All gulets are provided with a large supply of fresh water, fuel and waste containers, which significantly increases the comfort on board. But at the same time, the weight of the gulet has been definitely increased, too. Therefore, such boat is more suitable for sea trips than for sailing.
The most common pleasure yachts have 4 to 8 double / triple cabins that can accommodate 8 to 18 passengers. All cabins are equipped with a double bed or two single beds, one on top and one on the bottom (bunk beds). Each cabin has a wardrobe and drawers for clothes. All cabins have their own shower and toilet.
The interior features of the gulet include a lounge / bar / dining area inside and a fully equipped galley. The aft deck houses a dining table and seating area, while the fore deck has comfortable cushions and sun loungers that allow you to comfortably sunbathe on deck. The ladder for descent and ascent from the water is mostly straight and descends into the water.
Most pleasure yachts have 12 or 24 V electricity. Please take special care if you travel with battery powered appliances, electric shavers, cameras, phone chargers, laptop computers, etc. Electrical appliances can only be switched on when the yacht is at the berth.
There is also a fridge /freezer/ on board to keep drinks chilled, a CD player, board games, snorkels, masks and fishing lines. You can catch fish for dinner and your cook-cook will be happy to prepare it for you! On board the gulet there is also a boat (motor or with oars), a walkie-talkie, mobile communications and life jackets. All pleasure yachts have received government approval and are operated by a professional crew.
The construction of luxury yacht-gulets began in 2001, this is the top step of the classic style yachts.
The number of cabins in this class varies depending on the size of the yacht and its concept. One can see a luxury gulet from 3 to 11 cabins, master cabins are often found in this category. 95% of yachts have a master cabin. The number of master cabins varies from 1 to 3, but the ideal model is a yacht with two master cabins, one in the front and one in the back. ... The comfort and breadth of the cabins are very different from other categories. For convenience, luxury yachts also have double cabins, which are ideal for family charters for children. Each cabin has a bathroom, hairdryer, wardrobe, air conditioning and TV.
Luxury gulet yachts have full sailing equipment, the number of engines depends on the weight and size of the yacht and ranges from 1 to 2.
