Premium Yacht Polishing with a Personal Touch — By Jason Donegan
Hi, I’m Jason — founder of Donegan Polishing, based in Palma de Mallorca and fully mobile across Europe. I provide a premium yacht polishing service focused on quality over shortcuts. My mission is simple: to bring tired surfaces back to life and give them long-lasting protection that looks as good as it performs.
Whether it’s restoring a dull gelcoat, refining painted finishes, polishing glass, or applying high-end coatings, I treat every surface with the respect it deserves. I’ve built my reputation on attention to detail, a solid work ethic, and results that genuinely speak for themselves.
Why Yacht Polishing Is More Than Just Shine
Many think polishing is just about looks, but real polishing goes much deeper. On a yacht, surfaces are exposed daily to UV rays, salt spray, pollution, and frequent washdowns. Left unprotected, this wear leads to oxidation, fading, and a chalky, dull appearance — especially on gelcoat and dark paintwork.
That’s where I come in. Proper polishing and surface protection not only restore the appearance but also prevent damage, extend the life of the finish, and make regular cleaning easier and more effective.
I believe in doing things right the first time. That means careful surface prep, the right choice of polish or compound, and most importantly, the appropriate protection — ceramic coatings, polymer sealants, or waxes — depending on the vessel’s needs and the owner's expectations.
What I Offer
Every boat is different, and so is every job. That’s why I tailor my polishing service to suit each project. Here’s a closer look at the services I provide:
Ceramic Coatings
Ceramic coatings are a game-changer for long-term surface protection. They chemically bond to the paint or gelcoat, creating a hydrophobic, high-gloss barrier that resists UV, salt, grime, and even minor abrasions. Unlike waxes, which wear off in weeks, ceramic coatings can last for a year or more with proper care.
They’re ideal for owners who want deep gloss, low maintenance, and maximum protection over time. I work with top-tier professional-grade products and ensure every application is done in a controlled, well-prepped environment for optimal bonding and durability.
Polymer Sealants
If you’re after excellent shine and solid protection without the commitment of a ceramic coating, a high-quality polymer sealant might be the answer. These synthetic formulas create a tough barrier that protects against UV, oxidation, and water spots — often lasting 3–6 months depending on usage and exposure.
They’re especially well-suited to busy yachts that undergo frequent washdowns or operate in harsher climates. They also provide a great foundation for regular upkeep.
Premium Wax Options
Sometimes, you just can’t beat a classic. I offer several premium wax options that deliver rich gloss, warm depth, and easy maintenance. Waxes are especially great for seasonal upkeep, showings, or when you just want the boat to look its absolute best ahead of a trip or charter.
Waxes don’t last as long as ceramics or polymers, but they’re quick to apply, easy to maintain, and can be layered or topped up regularly to maintain the look.
Scratch Removal & Gloss Restoration
This is where the magic happens. I tackle oxidation, water spots, swirl marks, and fine scratches using a multistage approach that includes compounding, polishing, and buffing with professional-grade tools and products.
The result? A smooth, glossy surface with renewed depth and reflection. Whether it's a matte-looking gelcoat or a black hull showing every imperfection, I have the skills and tools to bring it back to life.
